The fairy beach with clear water and Blue Flag 2017!
The Gulf of Follonica stretches from Piombino to Punta Ala and has countless beaches predominantly of white and fine sand. Among the beaches of the gulf, exposed to the south and near Cala Violina is Cala Civette, a heavenly oase with the typical colors of the Maremma: crystal clear green water, straw-colored sand and Mediterranean scrub all around the intense green. The sandy beach of Cala Civette is located about 20 km from the Village Casa in Maremma, direction Punta Ala.
It is a cove of the area of the Maremma, which like the many wonderful beaches, is characterized by being in the peak season (August in the first place) much less crowded. Cala Civette, in fact, turns out to be the right place if you want the beauty of the seaviews with the quiet and tranquility. It is the beach for the peace of the senses of a unique beauty.
It is one of the most pristine and wild beaches in the area, dominated by Torre Civette, a white tower overlooking the headland, from which it takes its name. Its beauty and charm will surprise you. Cala Civette allows you to dive, excellent snorkeling and, in addition, the place is known for the lucky fishing of sea dangles, bream, cephalus and sea urchins!
How to get to Cala Civette Beach
Starting from the Village Casa In Maremma, get the Provincial Highway of the Puntone and once passed the Point of Scarlino continue and take the Road Procinciale 158 in the direction of Pian d’Alma.
Once you arrive at the pian d’Alma resort, turn at the junction for Punta Ala and after going for about 4 km, along the nearby road of Torre Civette, there is a large free parking space in the shade that is only 100 meters from the beach. Once parked, Cala Civette beach is easily accessible on foot wading through the sea outlet of the Alma River. A feasible and absolutely non-dangerous operation.
The beauty of this seaside location is already admired with the walk in nature, then the view of its beach and its sea repays the efforts made. We’re sure of that!
The beach of Cala Civette is completely free beach and along it you will find small collections of reeds, branches and bushes that effectively protect from wind and sun.

Stayed for 10 days in August, two adults and two teenagers. Used as a base to visit local areas and also Rome and Florence (3 hour drive). Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. Spent days when at the village in the pool. Pool was everything you needed on scorching hot days…very clean and relaxed…swimming caps are essential and can be purchased at reception. Only ate once at the restuarant but was delicious. We were the only English family and the staff tried very hard to keep us included at all times. Evening entertainment was as expected…we saw bingo, made slightly harder by the translations, and an acrobatic display, which was entertaining despite a fall. Would recommend
Brilliant resort in the Tuscan countryside
Fantastic holiday in villa with excellent pool and on site services. Great staff, kids club, baker visiting every morning with lovely fresh bread, delicious food served in the restaurant on site. Can’t recommend enough will be back for another holiday
perfect for a family holiday
We spent a lovely week enjoying the pool and the beautiful beach nearby (Cala Violina). Each bungalow is well equipped, clean and quite (and air conditioned). Lots of great places to visit in the area from Piombino to Massa Marittima to Castiglione della Pescaia. The staff was very professional and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back!
