Don’t miss Cala Violina Beach, a few minutes from the Village Casa In Maremma!
A striking beach enclosed by the green Mediterranean scrub with fine sand, are just some of the features that make Cala Violina Beach the most beautiful beach of the Maremma!
The beach Cala Violina awaits you immersed in the Nature Reserve of the Coasts of Scarlino with a clear sand, grainy and composed of tiny grains of quartz. In fact, the name Cala Violina comes from this particular sand: walking on it the sand is able to emit a particular sound, which seems to remember just that of the violin! But its waters are no less, let slip gently into the turquoise and clear waters with behind it a panorama characterized by the thick Mediterranean scrub that only the Maremma can give.
How to get to Cala Violina Beach
The beach of Cala Violina is located between Follonica and Punta Ala (both about 10 km away), exactly within the Scarlino Bandit Nature Reserve, a few kilometers from the Village Casa in Maremma.
The beach can be reached via two routes:
from the side of the bike point (rather tiring) along a beautiful path after entering from the bar of Portiglioni (right after the Port of Scarlino).
from the side of Pian d’Alma, where you drive or drive the SP 158, until you get to the parking lot in a closed number, precisely because the beach is located in a nature reserve. It is advisable to arrive early in the morning to rectify this problem. From the parking lot to the beach you have to cross a comfortable path in the cool of the pine forest of about 20 minutes.
On the Beach Cala Violina there are no beach resorts and no refreshments on the beach, although during the summer before arriving on the beach you can find soda kiosks and street food. In the pine forest near the beach, there are wooden tables and benches to shelter in the cool under the pines, to spend pleasant picnics or for perfect rest in the shade for young and old.

Stayed for 10 days in August, two adults and two teenagers. Used as a base to visit local areas and also Rome and Florence (3 hour drive). Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. Spent days when at the village in the pool. Pool was everything you needed on scorching hot days…very clean and relaxed…swimming caps are essential and can be purchased at reception. Only ate once at the restuarant but was delicious. We were the only English family and the staff tried very hard to keep us included at all times. Evening entertainment was as expected…we saw bingo, made slightly harder by the translations, and an acrobatic display, which was entertaining despite a fall. Would recommend
Brilliant resort in the Tuscan countryside
Fantastic holiday in villa with excellent pool and on site services. Great staff, kids club, baker visiting every morning with lovely fresh bread, delicious food served in the restaurant on site. Can’t recommend enough will be back for another holiday
perfect for a family holiday
We spent a lovely week enjoying the pool and the beautiful beach nearby (Cala Violina). Each bungalow is well equipped, clean and quite (and air conditioned). Lots of great places to visit in the area from Piombino to Massa Marittima to Castiglione della Pescaia. The staff was very professional and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back!
